Skincare Routine

Clarisonic MIA

I love my Clarisonic! It does a super good job at exfoliating and scrubbing away make up and dirt leaving my skin soft and clean. The MIA is the cheapest of the Clarisonic brush systems, but I really don't see why you would need so many different speeds. Doesn't make that big of a difference. Also a feature I love on the MIA is the 2 minute timer so you don't have to worry about over scrubbing your skin.

I got mines for $110 off of eBay. BUT BEWARE OF FAKE CLARISONICS!! My mom got a fake one for $95, but got half of the refund when we found out. It is so easy to tell the fake from the real when you have them side by side, but if you've never owned one, then it can be extremely hard to differentiate. The brush is rougher, frequency of vibrations is lower, and most of all, new "authentic" brushes don't work when you put it on. The seller that gave us the fake one had 100% positive feedback at the time we bought it, but then some people starting saying it was fake, BUT most of those are removed now somehow o_O. SO BE CAREFUL! I wouldn't suggest buying from buyers with less than 500 feedback replies for something like this.

Another thing; I recommend using the brush with a light hand, if you actually scrub hard onto your delicate skin, broken capillaries may form on your cheeks. They look like little red veins and there is no cream that can treat this- only a trip to your dermatologist and $$$. That is also why I don't recommend using the brush for more than the allotted 2 minutes at a time.

(Step 1) Cleanser

Sana: Nameraka Isoflavone Cleansing Foam Wash
[Good] Out of all the cleansers I've tried, only this one leaves my skin squeaky clean, literally! When I use this with my Clarisonic, my skin feels soooo squeaky afterwards!
[Bad] If you use this around your eyes, it kinda stings and makes it hard to open ><
[Texture] Creamy, medium consistency
[Scent] None

Naruko: Tea Tree Oil Cut Acne Clay Cleanser
[Good] Leaves a minty, tingly feeling right after washing. Keeps pimples away :D
[Bad] Doesn't foam up, not that much of a lather
[Texture] Clay-like with micro-beads, thick consistency
[Scent] Tea Tree (a minty/medicinal-y tiger balmy smell)

(Step 2) Scrub

St. Ives: Green Tea Scrub
[Good] Good at preventing acne
[Bad] The smell lol
[Texture] Creamy, gel-like consistency with very fine grains to exfoliate
[Scent] Omg, I hate this smell... doesn't smell like green tea at all..a lot sweeter. Smells like hand lotion or something..it's not a bad smell, but I don't like it.

(Step 3) Mask

Formula 10.0.6: No Time to Shine Oil-Absorbing Mud Mask
[Good] Really nice mask! So good for acne spot treatment overnight; inflammation decreases dramatically by next morning. Use once a week.
[Bad] It does sting for the first few minutes.
[Texture] Creamy, mud-like
[Scent] Strong medicinal-ish scent (it's kind of refreshing :p)

(Step 4) Toner

 Lush: Tea Tree Water Toner
[Good] It's a really good replacement for my proActiv toner because it keeps pimples away unlike other toners I've tried.
[Bad] Nothing yet, although kinda pricey
[Texture] Like-water
[Scent] Tea Tree

(Step 5) Treat

Neutrogena: Oil-Free Acne Stress Control 3 in 1 Hydrating Acne Treatment
[Good] Apply this to acne/blackheads and it makes them disappear, especially blackheads on the nose since they are so hard to get rid of. A little goes a long way since it is so runny :)
[Bad] You have to make sure to rub it into the skin until it is all absorbed or it will peel off in flakes, ew.
[Texture] Runny, thin consistency
[Scent] The scent is amazing! Smells like cucumber :) yum.

(Step 6) Moisturizer

Clinique: Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
[Good] Good moisturizer for oily skin. A little goes a long way.
[Bad] No SPF like my other moisturizers :(
[Texture] Runny, thin consistency
[Scent] None

(Step 7) Protect

Neutrogena: Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen SPF 55
[Good] Probably the best drugstore sunscreen for the face and decent price for such a high SPF.
[Bad] It does leave a greasy, dewy, non-matte, finish; typical of sunscreens. It tends to peel/flake off after it does dry. I'm not very fond of this sunscreen, but I'll use it up first before getting better ones since it does do the job.
[Texture] Typical, medium consistency of sun screens.
[Scent] Typical sunscreen scent.
